Bettye Thompson, Ph.D.
Bettye is an organizational consultant and executive coach with The Leets Consortium,
headquartered in Newport Beach, California. In her role with TLC, Bettye specializes in
customized executive assessment, leadership coaching, team-building and organizational development.
Her early career included college level teaching in statistics and psychology. She worked with a petrochemical company as a chemist and taught chemistry and physics at the high school level. As an independent management consultant for over 10 years, Bettye brings broad-based experience in delivering top level executive coaching and assessment, introducing and implementing change management systems, and facilitates problem identification and solutions. Her client base represents both for-profit and non-profit enterprises.
Bettye served as the Director of Training and Development and Director of Executive
Development for 7-Eleven, formerly The Southland Corporation. She managed a staff of 100 professional and administrative employees supporting the 7-Eleven convenience stores and their 30,000 to 70,000 employees. She was instrumental in developing the corporation’s first executive development function. While at Southland, she served on the Assessment Committee for Texas Business and Education Coalition and was a
proposal evaluator for the State of Texas Educational Research Agency. Bettye was also
invited to work in Cuba as a member of a People to People Ambassadors’ Program
focusing on Conflict Resolution.
Bettye earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of
Houston and holds a BA with professional major in chemistry from the University of
Mississippi. She is licensed in the state of Texas and is a member of the American
Psychological Association, American Psychological Society and the Society of
Industrial/Organizational Psychologists. |
