Just a quick note to let you know that in my interview yesterday, right before we finished, I stated that, “I know a key part of the decision on hiring a new executive is how well they fit the character and personality of the company. Do you think I fit?” The CEO looked me in the eye, nodded his head and said, “Yes. I’d like to get to know you better at our next meeting or over lunch.”
It didn’t close the deal but it gave him a clear sense of my interest and I got a good (honest, I believe) reaction from him.
This was your gift to us at the last OC CFO meeting at Ken’s office.
Good stuff.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Jim Bateman
Peter,
Thank you for sharing your time and wisdom yesterday morning at Ken Tudhope's CFO gathering at Project Pro Search. The discussion points were enlightening and refreshing relative to our individual professional journeys. You sparked a new wave of enthusiasm and purpose--I had one of my best workouts in months!
Today I start to work on role-playing with my new Flip Video camera--with a buddy. Your suggestion of “Practice and Rehearse" will be put in motion.
Kind Regards,
Geoff Garland
